3 Interesting Cases Operated at Jharkhand Cancer Centre
At Jharkhand Cancer Centre, our surgical oncology team recently handled three remarkable and challenging cases that highlight our commitment to excellence and teamwork.
1?? 68-year-old female Follicular Carcinoma of Thyroid
The patient presented with a large follicular carcinoma compressing the trachea and involving the sternum.
We performed Sternal Resection + Total Thyroidectomy + Bilateral (II-IV) Neck Dissection + Bilateral Central Compartment Clearance.
The patient was successfully discharged and is doing well. She has been planned for Radioactive Iodine (RAI) therapy.
2?? 67-year-old female Carcinoma Endometrium (No Metastasis)
Diagnosed as a case of carcinoma endometrium without metastasis, the patient underwent Laparoscopic Hysterectomy + Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy + Bilateral Pelvic Node Dissection.
She had an uneventful recovery and was discharged on Post-Operative Day 3.
3?? 20-year-old female Mixed Germ Cell Tumor
A young girl with mixed germ cell tumor underwent chemotherapy followed by abdominal radiotherapy for retroperitoneal nodes (initially unresectable). Despite second-line chemotherapy, residual nodal disease persisted encasing bilateral CIA, CIV, left renal artery, renal vein, and ureter.
We performed a Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection with Left Nephrectomy.
These cases reflect the precision, coordination, and expertise of our entire team.
